PHUSE is an independent, non-profit organisation registered as a not-for-profit limited company in the UK. It is governed by two legal guarantors and the wider Board of Directors. Together they drive all aspects of PHUSE, from global conferences and one-day events to community engagement, training and industry collaboration. Sascha Ahrweiler

Communications & Brand Strategy Director

Sascha has been involved with PHUSE since 2010, having chaired the Data Handling Stream, co-chaired the Germany SDE in 2011 and supported the PHUSE Journal. In 2012, Sascha held the position of Co-Chair for the Annual Conference before assuming the role of Chair in 2012. Stephen founded the PHUSE Society in 2004. 15 years on, and with significant involvement on the Board of Directors, he now holds the position of Chairman of the Board and Global Events Director. stephen.bamford@phuse.global

Anne-Sophie Bekx

Education Director (Maternity Leave from March 2026)

Anne-Sophie was nominated to the position of Education Director in 2025. Before this, Anne-Sophie was a member of the EU Connect Committee since 2017, initially as a Poster Stream Chair and then as conference chair of the EU Connect 2024. She has also contributed to the PHUSE Working Group ‘Optimizing the Use of Data Standards’, most notably as part of the team that developed the Legacy Data Conversion Plan template. anne-sophie.bekx@phuse.global

Lynn Clipstone

Special Projects Director (EU) & Interim Education Director

Lynn has been involved with PHUSE since 2012, when she first chaired the Professional Development Stream. In 2017/2018, Lynn led the PHUSE Working Group which developed the job description for a Clinical Data Scientist. Jennie McGuirk

Special Projects Director

Jennie has been involved with PHUSE since 2006, when she first presented at the EU Connect. Jennie was a member of the EU Connect Committee from 2008-2025, initially serving as a Poster Stream Chair and later holding similar roles across various Streams before stepping up to become a Connect Chair in 2025. In 2026, she joined the Board of Directors as the Special Projects Director. jennie@phuse.global

Anup Patel

Technical Director

Anup was nominated to the position of Technical Director in 2014. Before becoming Technical Director, Anup had been a member of the EU Conference Committee since 2006, initially as a Stream Chair and then taking over the management of the Call for Papers system and creation of the Conference agenda. anup.patel@phuse.global

Working Groups Director

Chris has been involved with PHUSE since 2008, contributing to the Conference Committee and SDEs, before chairing the 2015 Annual Conference in Vienna. Michael Rimler

Open Source Technologies Director

Michael was nominated to the position of Open Source Technologies Director in 2023. Before this post, Michael chaired an Americas SDE in 2019, chaired the US Connect Machine Learning Stream in 2019-2020, and co-led multiple PHUSE Working Group Projects. In 2023, he served as the US Connect Chair in Orlando after 2 years as US Connect Co-Chair. michael.rimler@phuse.global

John has been involved with PHUSE since 2006, firstly as Co-Chair and then as Chair of the Statistics and Pharmacokinetics Stream, before editing PHUSE News and then taking on the role of Events Director in 2009. Sarvesh Singh

APAC Director

Sarvesh has been associated with PHUSE since 2014. He started as Co-Chair for a Single Day Event (SDE) in 2014 and became Asia Events Director, managing events in India, China and Japan.
