From 10–13 November, in Strasbourg, France, PHUSE welcomed a vibrant gathering of 737 attendees from 180 companies across 35 countries for the highly anticipated PHUSE EU Connect 2024. This marked a new era of record-breaking participation – with the biggest face-to-face Connect attendance yet!
The event provided the perfect environment to inspire unique perspectives and expertise and enable attendees to exchange ideas and deepen their knowledge. Engaging social events followed each day’s sessions, allowing participants to unwind, make new connections and solidify collaborations that could drive future advancements.
This year’s conference saw the debut of the Open Source Technologies Stream in the EU, which proved to be an outstanding addition to the line-up. The popularity of this Stream underscores the growing focus on transparency, community-driven innovation and open access in healthcare data science – a hot topic PHUSE is dedicated to advancing and sharing knowledge on.

“After five years of co-chairing the EU Connect – going through the virtualisation of the conference during the pandemic and back to in person in 2022 – it was finally my great honour and privilege to host this year’s event in Strasbourg.
It has been an amazing journey of collaboration, innovation, learning and inspiration. I’m certain events like these are instrumental in moving our industry forward and supporting better healthcare for patients everywhere.
I’d like to express my thanks to all those who attended, the individuals who submitted an abstract, those who presented, and to all our sponsors and exhibitors, whose continued support has made this event possible. I would also like to offer my heartfelt gratitude to my Co-Chairs, Jennie and Jin, the entire PHUSE Connect Committee, the PHUSE Board of Directors, and our incredible PHUSE Office staff, for their support, guidance and commitment.
I wish Jennie the best of luck for next year. I have absolute confidence she will keep the momentum going and bring another fantastic edition of the EU Connect to Hamburg in 2025.”
