PHUSE are thrilled to have welcomed more than 670 of you from 162 different companies to cultivate innovation and bring exposure to the hottest industry topics. What an unforgettable experience for everyone who connected in Orlando!
Hundreds of meaningful connections were made over the four days, which were expedited by the Speed Networking Event, Connect Dinner and Poster Session.
Attendees also gathered to learn from our two keynote speakers: Michael Schmidt, Orlando Health, and Jose Galvez, FDA who both provided highly insightful presentations.
A varied range of sessions were enjoyed: Connect Stream Presentations, Hands-on Workshops, Leadership Sessions, Panel Discussions, and so much more! We also saw the return of Stories, which were extremely well received, and our educational learning path for new starters, Passport to Learn.
Wednesday 8 March, the last day of the event, was International Women’s Day, and, of course, we celebrated all the amazing women in the PHUSE Community!
Michael Rimler, US Connect Chair, shares his summary of the event:
“Hello, Phriends!
By all accounts, the PHUSE US Connect 2023 in Orlando was a roaring success, primarily due to the energy, passion and presence that each attendee brought to the event every day. Feedback I’ve heard on the content – whether presentations, posters, panels, or workshops, makes me wish I could have been in six places at once. The Keynotes, too, satiated our desire to learn, discover, and innovate. We were also reminded why we do the work we do – for the well-being of our patients.
It was an honour to chair the PHUSE US Connect in Orlando, hopefully enabling you to learn from others, share with others, and connect to others. Thank you to all who supported making this event a success – including my Co-Chairs (Karnika Dalal and Bhavin Busa), the Full Committee, and the PHUSE Office and Board.
The event was the largest face-to-face US Connect in history, coming in at just over 670 delegates across 162 different companies. Absolutely PHantastic! We kicked off on Sunday with a gloriously chaotic Speed Networking session. After the first day of sharing and learning, we ‘networked’ to music from Dueling Pianos. We capped off the first two days of content with a wonderful Poster session featuring 25 posters and a smorgasbord of social events!
If you weren’t just a bit tired on Wednesday morning, you weren’t PHUSEing properly. The event was coming to a close – our exhibitors were running out of pens and water bottles – the stands were coming down. As we realised that we would have to pause our face-to-face connections for a short time, we started looking fondly ahead to the PHUSE EU Connect 2023 in Birmingham, UK and the PHUSE US Connect 2024 in Bethesda, Maryland.
The last day was International Women’s Day, a day in which I was delighted to pass the torch to Karnika Dalal for the 2024 PHUSE US Connect. I can’t wait to see what she, Bhavin Busa, and Kirsty Lauderdale have in store for you next February in Bethesda. I hope I will see you there!”
Michael Rimler, US Connect 2023 Chair
