Welcome to Austin! The Host City of the US Connect 2026

The History

With a rich cultural history dating back to the mid-1800s, Austin has been famed for its vibrant music scene and university, and it has been the capital of Texas for over 180 years.

At the heart of downtown Austin sits the Texas State Capitol Building, a beautiful example of Italian Renaissance Revival architecture that is still a popular landmark to this day. It is a recognisable element of Austin’s skyline, standing taller than the United States Capitol building.

You can visit local cultural sites such as the Bullock Texas State History Museum and the living history museum at Pioneer Farms, which document the city’s complex history.

Today, Austin is known as the live music capital of the world, an outdoor lifestyle hub and a centre for technology.

The Tourism

Whether you want to explore historic sites, hike up local landmarks or enjoy cultural hotspots, there’s plenty to do in Austin during your trip to the US Connect 2026.
