Bengaluru witnessed another impactful PHUSE Academia Meet, on 29 April, at the BMS Institute of Technology and Management. The event brought together academia, industry leaders and aspiring students to explore the evolving landscape of clinical data science.

The session featured insightful contributions from Shrishaila Patil, Senior Vice President, Navitas Life Sciences and Bhaskar Subramanian, Director, AstraZeneca, who engaged with the audience on the topic ‘Career Pathway to Clinical Data Science’. Their perspectives offered students a clear understanding of the opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry and the skills required to succeed in this dynamic field.

The audience comprised over 200 enthusiastic undergraduates pursuing computer science, data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning. The interactive discussions not only introduced them to PHUSE and its global initiatives but also raised awareness of the critical role data science plays in shaping the future of healthcare and clinical research. Students were particularly keen to learn about career prospects, preparation strategies, and the growing demand for talent in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.

This Academia Meet was a resounding success and reinforced PHUSE’s commitment to building bridges between industry and academia. Moving forward, PHUSE will continue to collaborate with academic institutions to inspire and prepare the next generation of talent in clinical data science.
